When you first receive your Damsel in Defense (TM) stun gun, go ahead and plug it in to make sure it’s fully charged.
Learn how to charge your stun gun by Damsel Protege’, Jennifer Vaaler.
It’s easy!
1) Underneath the stun gun, there is a round dot. Push this out for the wall prongs.
2) Make sure stun gun is switched completely off, in the down position, and insert the safety pin.
3) Plug into an outlet that is away from animals and children
4) You will know your stun gun is charging when the red “D” light comes on. If the light does not come on, the safety pin may not be all the way in.
5) Charge for 8 hours.
6) After 8 hours, the flashlight should be a lot brighter and the charge will be really loud. Otherwise, there really is no other way to tell it’s fully charged.
Q. How do I know if the charge is getting low?
A. When your charge is getting low, the flashlight will become dimmer and the sound of the stun won’t be near as loud.
Q. How often should I charge my stun gun?
A. Overcharging can mess up your stun gun. It’s good to make sure you charge it once a month for minimal usage. If you mainly use the flashlight and test more often, charge every two-weeks, no longer than 8 hours.
Is there a way to tell when it is fully charged? Will the light go out or something or do you just have to guess?
Hi Jessica, I’ve update the article to answer your question. Thank you for your feedback!
How can I tell my stun gun is fully charged because there is no light which indicates that its charging, its a 704 jsj type
Hi Stephanie,
These tips are for Damsel in Defense ™ stun guns only. You may need to research the specific brand you have. Otherwise, we stand behind our products with educating how to properly use our stun guns and any information you may need for our products.

I have charged this for 8 hours, and all that is working, albeit intermittently is the flashlight.
I have no clue as to what pun you are talking about, there was no extra piece, or anything that is removable.
Please, tell me what I am doing wrong, or what is needed to have this work.
I have the Damsel in Defense, Tiny Takedown.
Thank you,
Sheri Bond
Hi Sheri,
The “Tiny Takedown” is one of our discontinued stun guns that does not have a disable pin. I recommend reaching out to the Damsel Pro you bought it from. I’m not sure what the warranty is on it. Otherwise, you can always contact Damsel Pro Support prosupport@damselindefense.net
Hope this helps!

I have no safety pin
Hi Marilyn,
These instructions are for Damsel in Defense(tm) stun guns only. If you have lost your safety pin, you can simply buy a replacement. Let me know if this is the case.
Do you have a different brand? If so, I can’t help you, sorry.
Jen
I believe it’s messed up and I got my taser off of a app called wish and it worked yesterday but now it doesn’t work so what should I do?
Hi Ivy,
I’ve bought stuff off Wish before and my experience has been that their stuff isn’t good quality in the first place.
On that note, I recommend ordering a stun gun through me because we offer returns, customer service, and education on how to properly use our stun guns.
I have lost the charge cord to my wife’s Gotcha stun gun. Where can I get a new one as this was a gift from a friend?
Hi Rhett,
Don’t worry, this happens all the time. I’ve got you covered. Here’s the direct link. https://www.mydamselpro.net/SELFDEFENSEDIVAJEN/shop/catalog.aspx?displayCategory=0008
